It looks as if travellers from London Gatwick airport will have even more choice for parking their car when they fly. Its in the news that Gatwick Airport has invited developers to bid for the £15 million contract to build the new car park.
It is thought that the plans allow for 1,100 spaces and is expected to be a new multi-storey building. Bidding is set to end on the 28th of September and once started the building work it is expected to last for something like 14 months.
The plans include six raised levels to the car park with external access ramps, and will spread across a 2,200 square metre area close to Gatwick Airport’s north terminal.
This expansion of the facilities at Gatwick is great news for travellers.
London Gatwick airport is a major hub for the south and the London area and it is timely that the Car Parking facilities are being upgraded for the future.
It is about time they built a new parking lot for Gatwick, but I think they need to come up with a new idea on how to tackle the crowding and space requirements that are ever increasing.
